The story behind the Tanknator

The Tanknator brings a rugged military vibe to the Hot Wheels track with its bold design. Released in 2024 as part of the Mainline series, this unique model belongs to the HW Ride-Ons assortment. Designed by Ryu Asada, it features a distinct camouflage pattern on a green body that stands out in any collection. The plastic construction allows for detailed molding of tank treads and a large turret. Being a standard Mainline release means you can find these at regular retail stores rather than through exclusive channels. It captures the spirit of toy tanks from childhood while fitting perfectly into modern diecast collections.

Materials, colors and value

This model comes in 1/64 scale, making it compatible with most Hot Wheels tracks and display cases. The body is made entirely of plastic to support its complex shape. You will likely find versions painted in various shades of green or dark green. The interior usually matches the exterior tone with gray tones. Black wheels provide a solid base for movement. Since this is not a limited edition run, individual pieces are fairly affordable for most shoppers looking to add variety.
