The story behind the Audi 90 quattro
This 2024 Hot Wheels Audi 90 quattro stands out as one of the most desirable finds in recent memory. Part of the HW Turbo series, this model is classified as a Super Treasure Hunt rather than a standard Mainline car. That special status means it carries significantly higher value for collectors looking to complete their sets or hunt down rare items. Designed by Fraser Campbell with SKU HTF36, the casting captures the aggressive rally racing heritage perfectly. It features a massive rear wing and authentic sport decals that pay homage to the real race cars of its era. While Mainline releases are common everywhere, this specific Super Treasure Hunt edition is much harder to spot on shelves.
Materials, colors and value
The model arrives at a precise 1/64 scale with a plastic base material typical for high-detail collectibles in this range. It showcases an incredibly deep Spectraflame dark blue paint finish that creates unique light reflections you will not see on standard metal versions. The detailed bodywork includes white racing stripes, clear windows, and a black interior. You might also encounter variants with regular Dark Blue or lighter Blue finishes, but the Spectraflame version remains the primary goal for serious hunters due to its distinct shine.
Questions about the Audi 90 quattro
What is the Hot Wheels Super Treasure Hunt Audi 90 quattro worth?+
Because this model holds Super Treasure Hunt status, it usually commands a higher price than regular Mainline cars. Value depends heavily on condition and whether you have the special Spectraflame finish. Collectors often pay premiums for sealed cards featuring these ultra-rare releases compared to standard blue versions found in blind bags.
How do I identify a Super Treasure Hunt Audi 90 quattro?+
The easiest way is checking the paint quality. Look closely at the body for that distinct, glowing Spectraflame finish instead of standard metal enamel. You should also see the official flame logo stamped on the base card or packaging. This specific release from the HW Turbo series often features unique white and gold wheels.
Is this Audi 90 quattro model common to find in stores?+
Not really at all. Super Treasure Hunt models are produced in extremely limited quantities compared to regular Mainline cars that you see every day. They appear randomly and rarely during specific release waves, making them difficult to track down once they leave the initial distribution centers.
