The story behind the Maserati MC20
The Maserati MC20 represents a modern masterpiece from Italy, known for its powerful engine and sleek design. In 2025, Hot Wheels released this stunning vehicle as part of the Mattel Brick Shop series to give fans access to exclusive models that do not appear in regular stores. Designer Ronald Wong captured the aggressive curves of the real supercar perfectly at a tiny scale. This specific release features striking red body colors paired with black accents and wheels. Since it is sold through select locations, finding every color variant can be quite an adventure for dedicated fans.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast model comes in three different main colors to suit various tastes. You might find the classic Red finish or a special Rosso Vincente red shade that honors Maserati heritage. All versions share black bases and interiors with dark tinted windows. The car is made of plastic but features detailed exterior elements like sharp headlights. Collectors value these models for their exclusive nature rather than heavy metal construction. They make excellent additions to specialized display cases.
Questions about the Maserati MC20
Is the Maserati MC20 Mattel Brick Shop rare?+
Yes, this model is considered rare because it belongs to a specialty shop series rather than standard retail lines. These cars are produced in smaller quantities and only appear at specific locations nationwide. Finding all three color variations requires patience since they do not circulate widely like common mainline releases.
How can I tell if my MC20 is genuine?+
You should check the base of the car for clear casting numbers and correct branding. The windows must match one of the known tints listed in official catalogs, such as smoke or gray. Genuine models feature sharp molding details on the body panels and wheels that look crisp under normal lighting conditions.
What is the typical resale value?+
Prices vary depending heavily on which color variant you have in your possession. Special finishes like Rosso Vincente usually command higher prices than standard red versions. Since these items are scarce, sealed cards often fetch significantly more money than loose cars among serious collectors looking to complete their sets.
