The story behind the Custom '62 Chevy Pickup
This Custom '62 Chevy Pickup from the 2025 Mattel Brick Shop series brings a unique twist to classic truck collecting. Designed by Rob Matthes under SKU JKG28, this model captures the spirit of summer fun and retro Americana in miniature form. It is part of a specialized sub-series that explores themes beyond standard racing or street culture. The bright orange body paired with a crisp white roof creates an eye-catching two-tone look that stands out on any shelf. While it uses a plastic base rather than diecast metal, this specific release appeals to fans looking for unique color combos and playful detailing like the surfboard accessory in the bed.
Materials, colors and value
The Custom '62 Chevy Pickup is built with a 1/64 scale plastic base, which offers durability while keeping costs lower. You can find versions featuring an orange body with either ZAMAC or unpainted interiors. The silver base provides structural support for this distinctively styled pickup truck. Collectors value these models mainly for their vibrant paint applications and thematic connection to the Mattel Brick Shop series rather than rarity alone, since they are produced in standard quantities.
Questions about the Custom '62 Chevy Pickup
Is the Custom '62 Chevy Pickup a rare Treasure Hunt model?+
No, this pickup is not classified as a limited edition or Treasure Hunt item. It belongs to the regular Mattel Brick Shop assortment for 2025. While it might be harder to find in local stores depending on distribution, there are no special flame logos indicating scarcity.
What material is used for this Hot Wheels truck?+
This specific Custom '62 Chevy Pickup features a plastic base instead of the traditional diecast metal found in many other models. The body panels remain colorful and detailed, but collectors should expect it to be lighter than standard releases.
How can I identify this truck when shopping for it?+
