The story behind the '68 DODGE DART
The '68 Dodge Dart returns in a fresh wave for collectors looking ahead to next year's lineup. As part of the Drag Racers series arriving in 2026, this model captures the spirit of vintage street racing with its aggressive styling and prominent hood scoop. Designed by Larry Wood under the SKU JJJ63, it belongs to the standard Mainline assortment rather than a special or limited release. This means you can expect to find it on store shelves alongside other popular muscle cars. The drag racer theme highlights the raw power associated with these classic American machines without needing any complex technical details.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast casting features a plastic base that supports a sleek body available in several color combinations. Collectors will look for versions painted in bright Orange, deep Dark Orange, and striking Metalflake shades depending on the specific release run. The interior finishes vary between matching Metalflake accents or classic solid Black details to complement the exterior paint job. Since this is a standard 1/64 scale model found in general retail packs, it serves as an accessible entry point for new collectors building out their Drag Racers collection.
Questions about the '68 DODGE DART
Is the 2026 '68 Dodge Dart considered rare?+

How do I identify this specific casting?+
Look for the distinct Drag Racers decal set on the sides and the unique hood scoop shape that defines Larry Wood's design. The SKU JJJ63 printed on the base helps confirm authenticity when checking out individual packs or loose examples.
What materials are used to make this model?+
Like many modern Hot Wheels, this car uses a plastic base and interior components rather than all-metal construction. The exterior body is made of durable plastic designed to hold vibrant colors like Orange or Metalflake while keeping the overall weight light.
