The story behind the PEDAL DRIVER
The Pedal Driver arrives in the 2026 Hot Wheels lineup as a fresh entry in the Rod Squad series. This model captures the raw, stripped-down aesthetic of classic rod building with its simple lines and open design. Designed by Ryu Asada, it offers a clean look that appeals to fans of vintage automotive culture. Since it is part of the core Mainline assortment, you will likely find it on regular retail shelves rather than in exclusive packs. The Rod Squad theme often features rugged, mechanical vibes, and this car fits right in with its utilitarian style. Collectors enjoy spotting these new releases early in the year to build out their series collections before they become harder to find.
Materials, colors and value
This model is produced at the standard 1/64 scale used for most Hot Wheels cars. The body material is plastic, which keeps it lightweight and durable for play or display. You will notice a strong metallic theme in its color scheme, featuring Silver, Anodized Silver, and plain Anodized finishes on various parts of the shell. The interior matches this look with additional Silver details. The base is painted Black to provide contrast against the lighter body colors. While it lacks the metal construction found in Premium lines, its unique Rod Squad styling gives it distinct character for shelf displays.
