The story behind the FORD MUSTANG GTD
The Ford Mustang GTD represents a bold step for one of America's most famous pony cars. Released in 2025 as part of the Mainline series, this diecast model celebrates the Mustang 60th anniversary with aggressive racing styling. It features a large rear wing and aerodynamic lines inspired by real track competition. The design captures the high-performance spirit of the modern GTD while keeping the classic Mustang silhouette that fans know well. This release is part of the standard retail lineup rather than an exclusive limited edition, making it accessible for anyone building their collection. Collectors can appreciate how this model bridges the gap between street car heritage and serious motorsport engineering in a compact 1/64 scale package.
Materials, colors and value
This diecast vehicle features a metal body with a plastic interior base to keep production costs low while maintaining durability. The color lineup includes shades of blue along with a gray option for different looks on the track. Most versions showcase a dark blue finish that highlights the sculpted panels and gold-colored wheels. Being part of the core Mainline assortment, these cars are widely available at local toy stores and hobby shops in 2025. While they do not carry special rarity tags like Treasure Hunts or Super Treasure Hunts today, their clean design makes them popular additions to any Mustang themed display shelf.
