The story behind the Mad Splash
The Mad Splash brings a playful twist to the classic diecast lineup with its water taxi theme. Released in 2023 as part of the HW Metro series within the Mainline assortment, this model stands out for its creative design that blends road and water elements. Designed by Bryan Benedict, the car features a striking yellow body paired with black windows and gold chrome interior details. The clear base mimics water splashes, adding a unique visual layer to the standard 1/64 scale format. As a Mainline release, it is widely available in stores and online shops rather than being a limited edition chase or treasure hunt item. This makes it an accessible addition for collectors who enjoy themed vehicles with bold color combinations.
Materials, colors and value
Constructed primarily from plastic materials, the Mad Splash features a vibrant yellow body that catches the light well on display shelves. The interior showcases gold chrome and chromed elements that contrast sharply against the black windows. A clear base adds a distinctive splash effect around the wheels, enhancing its water taxi theme. Being part of the 2023 Mainline HW Metro series with SKU HKG94, it is not considered rare or highly valuable compared to limited editions. Its value lies in its unique styling and accessibility for fans who want to complete their collection without paying premium prices for scarce items.
Questions about the Mad Splash

No, this model is part of the standard Mainline assortment released in 2023. It does not have special markings like a flame logo or Spectraflame paint that indicate rarity. You can find it easily in regular retail stores and online retailers without needing to search for specific chase variants.
What makes the Mad Splash design unique?+
This water taxi features a clear plastic base designed to look like splashing water, which is unusual for standard diecast cars. The combination of yellow body paint with gold chrome interior parts and black windows creates a bright, eye-catching appearance that stands out on any display rack or shelf.
How much should I expect to pay for this car?+
Since it is a common Mainline release from 2023, prices typically reflect standard retail value rather than collector premiums. You will generally find these models in multi-packs or single blister cards at local hobby shops and major online retailers without significant markup.
