The story behind the Brutonator
The Brutonator brings a distinct flavor to the Hot Wheels lineup with its unique soda-can design. Released in 2023 as part of the Mainline series under the HW Metro collection, this model captures the imagination with its playful styling and retro racing spirit. Designed by Alton Takeyasu, it features a metal body wrapped in vibrant red tones that mimic a classic beverage can label. The chrome interior adds a striking contrast against the translucent exterior panels. As a standard Mainline release, this car offers accessibility for new collectors while still delivering visual excitement through its creative theme and attention to detail.
Materials, colors and value
The Brutonator comes with a metal body finished in various shades of red, including transparent red and Root beer Metalflake options across different color variations. Its base appears in both brown and metallic finishes depending on the version. The interior is consistently chrome-plated for added shine. Measuring at 1/64 scale like most Hot Wheels cars, it fits easily into any display case or collection setup. While not limited edition, its distinctive design makes it a favorite among fans who appreciate themed diecast vehicles.
