The story behind the Drone Duty
The Drone Duty model brings a futuristic vibe to your shelf with its unique design elements. Released in 2023 as part of the HW Metro series within the standard Mainline assortment, this vehicle stands out for its bold styling rather than traditional car shapes. Designed by Fraser Campbell, it features a distinct blue body that contrasts sharply against an orange lower chassis. This specific iteration captures the imagination with its rugged look and open-top structure. Since it belongs to the regular retail line found in common 5-packs or single cards, it is accessible for most shoppers looking to add variety without paying premium prices.
Materials, colors and value
Collectors will note that this piece utilizes a plastic body material rather than diecast metal. The main shell displays a vibrant blue color while sitting atop a black base with matching black interior details. It arrives in the classic 1/64 scale standard used by most Hot Wheels toys. Because it is part of the widely produced Mainline group, you can usually find new copies at local stores easily. This makes it an affordable option for kids or casual fans who want to complete their collection without spending too much money.
